Portions of Microsoft’s Office 365 and Dynamics CRM Online suffered a five-hour outage today. Microsoft says a networking issue — rather than a true cloud outage — impacted some North America cloud customers. Either way I was left wondering: Are customers and MSPs essentially helpless when Microsoft’s cloud can’t deliver applications?
Microsoft: Windows Intune Still On Track for 2011 Release

No news is good news. That’s essentially the statement from David Kays, director of software development for Windows Intune — a SaaS-based remote management platform for Windows PCs and mobile devices. On the one hand, Kays says he doesn’t have anything new to publicly share. But on the other hand, Kays says Windows Intune is still on track for 2011 delivery. Plus, I suspect we may get more updates during the Microsoft Management Summit (March 21-25, Las Vegas). Here’s why.
Microsoft Online Services: SaaS Pricing, Partner Strategy Announced

Microsoft has announced pricing and partner details for Microsoft Online Services — the company’s software as a service (SaaS) product portfolio. At the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Houston, the company also pushed downstream with entry-level SaaS offerings for so-called “deskless workers” who don’t spend much time on computers but still need to collaborate with peers.
