The City of New Orleans, largely spared by Hurricane Gustav, could reopen to residents as soon as September 4. And a few weeks later, the city is still expected to host a major customer event for Nimsoft, one of the fastest-growing companies in the managed services market.

Hurricane Gustav and Terabytes of Data
Posted September 2nd, 2008 by Joe Panettieri
It would be interesting to see how many terabytes (petabytes? exabytes or more?) of data were backed up and moved out of the Gulf Coast area ahead of Hurricane Gustav. Also, I wonder how much of that data was moved into commercial cloud services. Anybody have any estimates or seen any editorial coverage worth noting?
Bracing for Hurricane Gustav

As we all keep our eyes on Hurricane Gustav, our first thoughts turn to the safety and well-being of everyone caught in the storm’s path. But ultimately, we’ll strive not to lose sight of the fact that millions of Americans have been displaced by Gustav.
