StillSecure, which focuses on managed network security, has joined the Rackspace Cloud Tools Program. Anecdotal evidence suggests that StillSecure’s Cloud Security Monitoring Service (Cloud SMS) is catching on with a range of cloud providers.
Indeed, Rackspace is just the latest cloud provider to add Cloud SMS to its list of cloud security solutions. Peak 10, SoftLayer Technologies, Host.net and ViaWest have already done so. Cloud SMS gives users firewall management capabilities; it allows users to search ports and protocols and track network statistics, all through a web-based User Interface (UI).
Rackspace Senior Manager of Strategy and Corporate Development Ven Shanmugam said Cloud SMS ”provides a critical layer of security” for cloud environments.
StillSecure CTO James Brown maintains that security is the main issue preventing more companies from moving to cloud environments, and StillSecure looks to be on a mission to make a security a non-factor.
