All Covered, the nationwide managed service provider and a division of Konica Minolta, has acquired ColdCypress, a Pittsburgh, Pa.-based IT consulting and IT services firm that specializes in Microsoft SharePoint, VMware and PC server virtualization services.

You can pretty much set your watch to when All Covered is going to make another acquisition these days. All Covered has purchased more than 20 companies in the last three years, including four acquisitions within the last two months:

• LAN Associates and PMV Technologies were acquired at the same time;
• then Vertical IT Solutions; and
• now ColdCypress.

All Covered also added cloud services to its IT services suite in early October, 2011. That’s also when we first heard rumblings about another acquisition. No doubt, ColdCypress serves some hot markets. VMware announced another round of strong quarterly earnings yesterday. Also, SharePoint has remained a strong performer even as Microsoft struggles to regain its reputation as a growth company.
