Alert Logic and Datapipe have launched a managed network security solution hosted in Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud). Alert Logic says the managed network security service will allow partners to address intrusion detection and PCI compliance.

Datapipe is a hosting provider offers a suite of managed cloud services, including design, monitoring and management, patching and OS maintenance, auto-scaling and change management.What’s missing? Intrusion detection services.

Alert Logic will fill that void, and the Data Pipe-Alert Logic solution will be integrated with Alert Logic’s Security Operations Center (SOC). “This is a great way for customers to solve security problems using the public cloud,” asserted Alert Logic Vice President of Marketing Urvish Vashi.

Initially, the network security solution will be available through Datapipe’s managed cloud offering. No telling when and if the offer will expand to other channels.
