Ingram Micro, the massive distributor, has developed Ingram Micro Merchant Services to make it easier and more profitable MSPs and VARs in the United States to sell merchant services. Here’s some perspective on the effort.
Ingram Micro Merchant Services, according to the company, is a turn-key credit card processing solution that offers three main features:
- Low transaction fees
- Online reporting
- 24/7 Customer support
Ingram Micro says the solution is ideal for businesses in the retail, e-tail or hospitality sectors. The service can be used as a stand-alone service or as part of an entire point-of-sale (POS) solution. Ingram Micro expects the new services to create a recurring revenue stream for its resellers. Ingram Micro is trying to drive up sales of the new service by giving VARs and MSPs a $250 incentive each time they identify a lead or sell Ingram Micro Merchant Services.
“Ingram Micro merchant services is a high-value incremental service for channel partners who sell to retailers and do business within key vertical markets such as e-tail, grocery, hospitality, restaurant and transportation,” General Manager of Ingram Micro Data Capture/POS Justin Scopaz said in a prepared statement. The Ingram Micro Merchant Services were further discussed during RetailNow 2011 (July 24-26, Orlando, Fla.).
