It’s been roughly six months since MSPmentor pinpointed South Africa as the next managed services battleground. Fast forward to the present and it’s quite clear that MSP software companies — particularly Kaseya and N-able — are focusing more and more attention on MSPs in the South Africa area. Here’s the update.
N-able VP of Sales Mike Cullen continues to be a world traveler. He says the company has more than 200 aspiring and established MSPs registered for the company’s South African Road Show (June 7-10), which has stops in Johannesburg, Capetown and Durban.
Meanwhile, Kaseya’s executive brass also is heading to South Africa for two stops this week — in Johannesburg and Capetown. CEO Gerald Blackie and President Mark Sutherland are expected to attend.
Some PSA (professional services automation) software companies have also turned their attention to South Africa. I believe ConnectWise launched a hosted service in South Africa last year. And Autotask‘s cloud certainly serves MSPs in the area.
Autotask CEO Mark Cattini sounds committed to continued global expansion. But during the recent Autotask Community Live conference in Miami, Cattini also made it clear to me that Autotask would be responsible in its growth plans. The company recently hired a U.K.-based manager, so I suspect the United Kingdom is Autotask’s top international priority for the moment.
Meanwhile, MSPmentor is starting to hear more and more from MSPs in South Africa. The 2011 MSPmentor 100 report included a breakout list focused on successful Africa-based MSPs.
