Two data specialists MSPmentor has been following for some time have aligned forces, as Seagate subsidiary i365 is planning to resell Datacastle‘s trademark RED data protection solution as both SaaS and on-premise software under the EVault brand. Here’s the scoop.
i365’s EVault solution is a hybrid storage product with a unique Cloud Connected Service Partner program designed to keep MSPs in the cloud revenue equation. Meanwhile, Datacastle focuses on data resiliency, with its Datacastle RED product aiming to protect endpoints with automatic backup and recovery features. While both companies have ample cloud experience, the joint offering will have an option for on-premise software deployment, as noted above.
“EVault and our extensive reseller network see growing demand for a reliable, secure, easy-to-use solution to protect critical data on desktops and laptops from our 30,000-plus global customers,” said George Hoenig, i365 VP of Products and Services, in a prepared statement.
This isn’t an earth-shaking announcement. But i365’s service provider partners now have a value-added, fully supported way to get data from customer sites onto theirs and i365’s storage infrastructure cleanly.
