LabTech Software and CharTec — two companies that received ConnectWise Capital investments earlier this year — are partnering up to introduce a new appliance for managed services providers (MSPs). The LabTech-CharTec development debuts in time for ConnectWise, CharTec and LabTech conferences later this week in Orlando. Here are some preliminary details.
According to a joint LabTech-CharTec press release, the appliance is…
“ideally suited for organizations with between 25 to 50 agents but also scalable for those organizations with thousands of agents…the joint SaaS/HaaS solution is delivered at a fixed monthly fee that includes both LabTech software and CharTech hardware with no initial capital outlay required. 50 agent bundles begin at $199 per month for both the appliance and software with 25 pack add-ons available. Partners have the option to switch to a purchase-to-own licensing model at any time.”
Both LabTech and CharTec are hosting gatherings during the broader ConnectWise IT Nation conference this week in Orlando. (Here’s a preview.)
CharTec has made a name for itself in the hardware as a service (HaaS) market, and already has an RMM relationship in place with Level Platforms (which competes with LabTech on some fronts).
Meanwhile, the ConnectWise Capital investment greatly raised LabTech’s visibility earlier this year. Generally speaking, MSPs say LabTech is positioned as a lower-cost alternative to Kaseya‘s RMM platform. As a reminder: I don’t run RMM or PSA software myself, so we recommend MSPs test the software first-hand to draw your own conclusions.
