Conventional wisdom says it’s difficult to small MSPs to work in the financial services industry, which is ruled by complex regulations and compliance mandates. But Dan Holt (pictured), CEO of HEIT, continues to prove the skeptics wrong. In fact, HEIT has scheduled a 2010 summit to help financial institutions understand how they can improve IT performance, compliance and security. Here are some details.
The 2010 HEIT Summit is now confirmed for October 13-October 15 in Fort Collins, Colo. Key topics on the agenda include:
- Mobile banking, RDC security, social media and PFM
- More effective management of compliance, security and infrastructure
- Strategies and the outlook for banking technology
HEIT, as you may recall, positions itself as a Master MSP for financial services clientele. Despite some of the recent financial challenges facing many community and national banks, HEIT has remained in growth mode.
One reason: Holt spends considerable time at financial services conferences (in addition to the usual IT events. Next up, Holt and the HEIT team are scheduled to host their own conference for the financial services vertical.

Hi Joe – I couldn’t agree more. Dan and his team at HEIT have done a great job establishing themselves as a leader in the financial services space. With regulatory pressure mounting, security demands increasing and expense reduction top of mind, HEIT’s services are in the right place at the right time. In fact, our CEO, Louis Hernandez, will be speaking at HEIT’s summit.

Joe –
We are taking a similar approach and Compuquip is hosting a financial seminar focusing on helping financial institutions navigate these difficult times. We have a long history of working with banks and although they are struggling these days, these are the times when we need to help because things will turn around and we want to be their partner.

Santo: Always great to hear from you. I hope all is well at Open Solutions. I look forward to hearing more about what Louis will cover at the conference.
Regarding HEIT: I think most banks turn first to large service providers for advice around compliance, security, etc. HEIT is the rare up-and-coming MSP that has credibility with the banks. Plus, you’ll find big IT vendors (example: Cisco) trusting HEIT. Rather amazing considering all the small MSPs that are struggling to go vertical.
