Continuity Centers, which provides disaster recovery solutions, has launched a MobileVault data protection service powered by Asigra. Here’s a closer look at Continuity Centers’ strategy.
MobileVault Protection Services are part of Continuity Centers‘ “Secure Private Cloud Backup” offerings. Continuity Centers’ new solution leverages Asigra’s cloud backup platform.
MobileVault protects mobile devices (i.e. laptops), automatically backing up the mobile systems when the devices connect to the Internet. It’s an “agentless” technology, so no software needs to be installed on the mobile devices. With Asigra-backed technology, Continuity Centers claims the backup approach supports de-duplicaiton.
No doubt, the managed services market is flooded with companies that offer online backup and business continuity services. But Continuity Centers seems to have a critical mass of customers and several major partnerships — including a relationship with Cablevision, the big cable and broadband service provider headquartered on Long Island.
