Nine Technology has made a series of updates to its “Powered by Nine” data protection offerings — which are designed to help their MSP partners and customers recover data faster and easier if and when disaster strikes. Here are some quick details.
The new features Nine is rolling out include seeding initial backups with drives shipped to the data center, semi-continuous data protection, granular SQL server backups using VSS snapshots, automated self-service branding of partner client software, web-based restore processes, and an updated GUI, according to the press release.
As MSPmentor discussed back in May 2010, Nine Technology makes its money by offering white-label storage solutions for endpoints, preferring to power an MSP’s managed storage portfolio rather than pursuing end-customers directly.
Still, numerous online backup companies are pursuing MSPs as partners. Plus, a growing number of RMM (remote monitoring and management) software providers are promoting online backup and disaster recovery (BDR) strategies.
