Networking management and monitoring software vendor SolarWinds has made upgrades to its Orion IP SLA Manager and Orion NetFlow Traffic Analyzer (NTA) modules to integrate more tightly with Cisco Systems offerings.
Orion IP SLA Manager identifies site-specific or WAN-related network performance issues from the perspective of each remote site. The new release supports Cisco’s iCMP Path Echo and iCMP Path Jitter services, taking advantage of the already-installed features in Cisco’s IOS operating system. The integration, therefore, eliminates the need for any agent software or remote appliances to monitor network traffic in remote locations using Cisco hardware and software, SolarWinds claims.
Orion NTA analyzes network traffic to determine where the “bandwidth hogs” reside and help IT managers avoid bottlenecks. Such information is especially important in distributed networks, which generally are slower than local networks. The latest version features a faster Web interface and navigation, as well as new resources and reports such as Interface Alerts with Top Talker Details, which sends network managers an alert when interface bandwidth utilization crosses pre-defined thresholds.
Both Orion IP SLA Manager and Orion NTA are available now, and also require Orion Network Performance Monitor. Pricing starts at $2,475 for Orion NPM, $1,495 for Orion IP SLA Manager and $1,795 for Orion NTA. All pricing includes first-year maintenance, according to the company.
