The majority of the major Security as a Service players are oblivious to the needs of MSPs. What's the point of delivering a cutting edge product when I need to "fax in a purchase order to get a license in a day or two." Seriously? When are these guys going to see the light?

Interesting prediction. It seems strange to think that there are solution providers out there who aren't already positioning managed services of any kind as a cost reduction method (as insinuated with Crawford's advice), amongst the multitude of value add's inherent to the category.

If the products are not already being positioned in this way, it seems counter intuitive to think that spending will increase during a time when businesses are "doing more with less".

While we focus just on the end user and the workstation at GMS Live Expert, we work with our Partners to determine the actual appetite for our services with their customer base and targets, through our sales support endeavors.

When Ovum's research is taken into consideration, I am not sure how relevant any of these aggregate findings are for the small VAR (despite the fact that the findings allow me to post my views) as there are so many segments of businesses all with different economics and outlooks. At the end of the day it's the conversations with customers that matter.
