We didn’t exactly race across the finish line this week. A range of deadlines consumed our team’s collective bandwidth. Lots of blogs didn’t get written. Here are seven managed services blog entries the MSPmentor team didn’t have a chance to write for the week ending Jan. 29, 2010.
7. Seeing Red: Managed email security specialist Red Condor has launched a partner program for Managed Service Providers (MSP) to augment its Talon Channel Partner Program. It’s a crowded market… A bunch of MSPmentor readers (and vendors…) were quick to offer comments about the email security market earlier this week.
6. Smart (Phone) Moves: ManageEngine‘s ServiceDesk Plus help desk software is now accessible through iPhone, Blackberry and Windows Mobile web browsers. Just about all of the major PSA and RMM players have been introducing iPhone support. Next up for most players: Potential Google Android.
5. Managed Print’s Hit and Miss: Photizo Group, a managed print services specialist, now has offices in Asia, Europe and North America. That’s good news for the managed print market. But overall, many MSPs haven’t gotten the message. Roughly 29% of MSPs offer managed print services, up only 1 percent from 2008, according to our latest MSPmentor 100 survey results (complete results coming Feb. 10).
4. Big Numbers: The MSPAlliance expects more than 7,000 ‘delegates’ to attend the organization’s 2010 events. That’s a lot of snackage.
3. Better Late Than Never?: After reviewing Symantec’s earnings, Motley Fool asked the question: “Is security the next cloud computing play?” Um, thanks for the tip. I’ll check it out…
2. He Spilled His Coffee Again: Nearly 10,000 folks are now following our MSPmentor and The VAR Guy twitter feeds. Pretty amazing, considering 10% of our tweets involve latte discussions. Kidding aside, thanks for following.
1. Not Bad for a Falling Empire: Microsoft announced record revenues of $19.02 billion for its second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2009. Put in proper perspective, fast-growing “giants” like Red Hat have yet to hit the $1 billion annual revenue mark.
Thanks for reading and joining the MSPmentor conversation.

Did you say nearly? I think I need some snackage.
