As we’ve mentioned in recent days, a flood of new managed services software will hit the market in December 2009 and January 2010. But I didn’t have a ManageEngine upgrade on my radar. Until now. Here’s why.
At first glance the ManageEngine news is pretty basic: The company says its latest release – ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus – MSP Edition — is available now. The offering is a web-based help desk and IT asset management platform.
But as some MSPmentor readers may recall, ManageEngine is owned by ZOHO Corp. And a Zoho business unit competes with a range of SaaS companies (Google Apps, Salesforce.com and more).
Now you can see where I’m going with this: Over time it’s safe to expect ZOHO Corp. to connect the dots between managed services software (ManageEngine) and the Zoho SaaS applications.
We’ll be intrigued to watch the strategy unfold.
