Simon: No need to thank me for the post or the MSPmentor 250. The folks at HTG Peer Groups gave me the idea for the post. And the MSPmentor 250 was built based on reader feedback.

Thanks for reading Simon.

Hi Joe

Incredible post.

Often talking about these pressures is seen as a sign of weakness, especially as managed services = 24/7 for many people.

It is now 10.20pm over here in the UK, and I am as usual reading MSP Mentor. The kids are in bed and my wife is watching the US version of Strictly Come Dancing.

I have created a very simple rule which seems to work. Rather than watch terrible television, I spend the equivalent time on my blog reading, industry catch up and up date surfing. Sure it is tempting to drop onto the iphone to check mail but I have (almost) learnt to resist.

This means I keep up to speed with my world and avoid reality TV completely.

Infact you can directly quote me as preferring MSP Mentor to Strictly Come Dancing. Surely you can make a story out of that ??!!!

Also a big thanks for my appearence in your Top 250 - maybe avoiding crap TV is keeping me up there !!

R. Anthony: Thanks for the feedback. I, too, gave up on mobile email for a bit. But with all of our blogs and twitter feeds I find that my iPhone is as critical to our business as my laptop.

Also, I'll be sure to tell The VAR Guy you're a reader. I'm sure he'll appreciate it.

Great post. I've been reading theVarGuy.com and now MSPMentor.com. You guys have changed my perspective on small business services. I'm applying the MSP concept to most of my services. Selling a service is definitely of more value. What's great about our tech industry is there are some great tech tools to help us manage our life. But in the end, it's still up to us. I've recently downgraded from my smartphone w/bluetooth (abused) to a normal cell phone w/no text and a wired headset (for car use only). Oddly enough, these tools were supposed to make managing my life better and today, without them, my kids (6) got more Dad time. =)
