The battle for U.S. managed services dominance is old news. Autotask and ConnectWise, two leading providers of professional services automation (PSA) software, have expanded their attention to international opportunities. You can almost see ConnectWise CEO Arnie Bellini and Autotask CEO Bob Godgart locked in a personal, global game of Risk.
The latest move: ConnectWise has “completely reengineered” its U.S. hosting operation. “With that complete, we’ll be setting up hosted operations in the U.K. and then Australia,” says Santo Cannone. chief operating officer of ConnectWise. “I fully expect we’ll be up and running in both locations by the end of the year. More importantly, Arnie expects we will.”
In a related move, ConnectWise recently cut the price of its hosted offering in order to reward existing customers and accelerate new customer decisions.
Autotask SaaS
Meanwhile, Autotask in February 2009 expanded its Autotask Go! and Autotask Pro platforms to Australia. As a pure SaaS (software as a service) model, Autotask has been able to move quickly into new markets across the globe. Autotask has also been signing up international franchises to use its SaaS-driven software.
Still, ConnectWise evangelizes a “have it your way strategy” — on premise or hosted, based on your company’s specific needs. If Bellini has his way, ConnectWise’s hosting options will soon be available in the U.K. and Australia.
