John: Expect more Terremark/Managed Services news in the next few days. Blending of SaaS and on-demand MSP software. Keep us posted as your own company pushes forward with its federated data center plans.

In my opinion Terremark is a shining example of how to interweave Managed Services with Hosted Services. The power of being able to not just RM&M a customers apps, but also operate client software (be they multi-tenant or not), is an extremely compelling model. To operate said software using an elastic compute platform adds even more to the bottom line. The challenge though with the MSP community at large is that in order to compete you need scale. You need to have a platform that can deliver computing as true commodity. Otherwise, you will end up either pricing yourself out of the running or you will (and I've seen this done) lose your shirt. Dare I say what the industry needs is a cloud computing platform designed for and by the average MSP?
