The MSPAlliance is applying some polish to its managed services summit brand. Earlier this week MSPAlliance President Charles Weaver informed me the association was planning summits in multiple cities. Now comes word that Weaver (pictured) has re-branded the events as MSPWorld. And I have to admit: I like the move.
The managed services market has gone global. As a media organization, MSPmentor knows it. As an industry association, the MSPAlliance knows it. And many vendors opening regional offices across the globe know it.
No doubt, this is going to be a difficult year for some face-to-face events, especially as businesses cut their corporate travel budgets. But something as subtle as a conference name change can attract considerable attention.
Full disclosure: Charles and I don’t always see I to eye. (Then again: Who does?) But I do respect his efforts. Pulling off a conference requires heavy lifting. Rebranding as MSPWorld was a smart move.
Keep growing the market, Charles. We’ll do our part as well.

This is going to be an exciting event. If you notice the MSP Alliance has cut back from providing 4 events a year to just the 2 here in the US. I think this will translate to better content and more attendees. The fact that it is at a Walt Disney World resort doesn’t hurt either.

Did I mention I like the name MSPWorld? Charles nailed it with that decision.
