And I should have noted that there are numerous alternatives (MSFT, Nortel, etc.) for UC ... but in this particular case I was speaking with Verizon about the CSCO relationship. I think you'll be hearing a lot more from Cisco regarding managed services in the weeks ahead. They have a managed services virtual trade show planned for <a href="http://www.mspmentor.net/2008/11/03/cisco-preparing-major-managed-services-event/" rel="nofollow">November 18 and 19</a>. I think you’ll be hearing a lot more from Cisco regarding managed services in the weeks ahead. They have a managed services virtual trade show planned for November 18 and 19. We’re not involved but I hope to tune in a bit to see what they’re discussing…

They want the feature rich technology of UC and find it to be a very good investment. Rest assured, anytime we're selling a Cisco UC solution there's a Managed Services contract stapled to the back of the proposal. If Cisco would just hurry up and give us an "IMPACT" program ourselves to remotely monitor and manage the on-premise equipment we'd be much more effecient in supporting those contracts :) Joe: we’re seeing the exact same success in the small to medium sized businesses that are moving to a UC solution.
