Network Virtual Support, a solutions provider near Seattle, Wash., isn’t getting bogged down in technology jargon. Since most small businesses have never heard the term “managed services,” Network Virtual Support instead pitches “computer maintenance plans” to its customers.
Network Virtual Support describes some of its messaging in a company blog, known as The Network Guy (no relation to MSPmentor’s sister site, The VAR Guy).

This is genius in its simplicity. I don’t know why more companies don’t try to de-tech their jargon so business people understand what they are doing.
I think many VARs and MSPs would get even more business if they did this……

Sometimes saying less leads to more success.
An example: Jenaly, an MSP in New Hampshire, designed a single-page bullet list describing the value of managed services to customers. I don’t think the sheet mentioned managed services by name, but instead focused on pro-active system maintenance, no surprise costs, etc.
