Datacore Consulting, a managed service provider in Cleveland, Ohio, has acquired Little Village IT Consulting of Stow, Ohio. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition allows Datacore to extend its footprint within the state of Ohio.
MSPmentor expects merger and acquisition activity to accelerate across the managed services market. During the current financial market turmoil, MSPs that have cash on hand should be able to acquire talent, customer bases, and recurring revenue contracts at a discount to early 2008 company valuations.

How many employees do Datacore and Little Village have?
Will: I hope to have an answer for you later today.
I agree with your statements. If you are looking for acquisition as an avenue for expansion now is the time to buy. We are finding a variety of opportunities as many business owners are concerned about what the current economy might be long term, and if they can make it through this rough patch. Many are looking to exit as close to whole as possible.
Some of the best buys are companies that are in a state of financial distress with good reputations that are ripe for acquisition at a lower cost than last year. We have found this a great way to expand both our talent pool and customer base, but as a way to hit the ground running in new geographies.
I expect we will hear much more acquisition news between smaller to mid-sized MSP’s in the coming year.
I feel bad for the people of Little Village IT.
