Zenith Infotech has been briefing managed service providers about a range of new services from the company. In an October 1 blog entry, the folks at Everon Technology Services offer some perspectives regarding Zenith’s Data Center as a Service, Box Office and Data Center in a Rack efforts.
Zenith has openly distanced itself from the managed services hype, instead focusing on disaster recovery and business continuity services that it hosts for VARs. And in some cases, MSP platform providers are now following Zenith into the software as a service (SaaS) market.
The data center branding represents Zenith’s latest effort to brand the company as a more sophisticated solutions provider.

Joe, we’ve not distanced ourselves from managed services. I can confidently say that we are one of the largest platform + back office NOC provider to the IT service provider channel with over 2,500 partners using our software and our remote NOC to manage 400,000 desktops, servers and network devices for over 20,000 customers. I do agree that we’ve distanced ourselves from the hype, and that we are a media shy company since we carry a huge responsibility, since our partners have trusted us to be one of the key components of their services offering. Its a huge challenge making things work everyday as opposed to selling software, and hence we like to avoid making tall claims. We are making investments in new products like BoxOffice and Data Center in a Rack because we think the standalone managed services business is going down the route of being commoditized with the advent of technologies like virtualization and cloud computing. Not that managed services will go away – I think it will be a part of a more comprehensive ITaaS (IT as a service) model that our partners will offer to their customers.
Akash: I think we’re on the same page. I meant to more clearly state that you’re pushing beyond the MSP hype. Please keep us posted as the Data Center in a Rack efforts move forward. I heard some buzz about the efforts down at ConnectWise Partner Summit. But as these efforts move forward, please let us know about key trends you’re seeing in your customer base.
Joe – I can only say that Zenith, on top of being a terrific partner in the true sense of the word, exhibits tremendous foresight, positioning their products and services in such a way that enables partners to stay ahead of the commodity curve for a relative low capital investment. If Zenith appears to be just now becomming “more sophisticated”, my opinion is it because they are very partner centric, not sales centric like others in the game.
Jmamom: Thanks for weighing in. I’m in a tricky spot. As a blogger who writes about all the vendors, I never want to play favorites. And I don’t personally run the MSP platforms.
Our latest MSPmentor 100 survey (ongoing…) indicates strong reader affinity for multiple MSP platforms. (It’s like the PC world, where some people prefer Macs, others prefer Linux, others Windows).
However, I will say this: We heard the Zenith buzz (from attendees) down at the ConnectWise Partner Summit.
We are a Zenith Partner, and we love the product.
Akash and his team are guiding their partners into the future..
We can’t wait to be part of it.
Akash,
Who do we talk to at Zenith if were interested in learning more about the product?
Akash,
How’s the Autotask integration coming?
Hello Nick,
Good to hear from you again. Please contact me if you would like to discuss our Cloud Computing offering.
Jesse,
We are not moving forward with Autotask “integration”. What we are doing is publishing our API so that the Autotask team can go ahead and integrate as they see fit. We’ll meake the API available to a number of companies. Looking to have this by the end of this year.
Thank you,
