Avnet Technology Solutions (ATS) is expanding its OneTech Managed Services initiative. At the New Frontiers Conference in Colorado Springs, Colo., ATS unveiled a “new family of remote monitoring and management services, enabling its value-added reseller partners to expand their service offerings.” Here’s a bit more info.
The expanded Avnet OneTech Managed Services now features three levels of support, including availability monitoring, preventative monitoring and comprehensive remote management, according to an ATS release.
I’m speaking with Avnet Technology Solutions at 4:15 eastern today to get a better feel for this announcement, and a clearer understanding of Avnet’s strategy vs. rival distributors efforts such as Ingram Micro Seismic and Tech Data VARChoice.

Avnet link is malformed.
Hi Patrick: Sorry. All fixed. Try the link again.
Boy you are quick Joe. I was just reading this announcement and you are already posting something about it.
It looks fairly comprehensive but not really much different from what Ingram and Synnex are doing. It does offer VARs more choices in the RMM market though.
Lane: Good to hear from you.
I hesitate to group together the distributor strategies (Ingram, Tech Data, Avnet, Synnex) because they’re all labeled managed services but they’re often different in approach.
Some are just distribution strategies for MSP software. Others are true hosted options for MSPs to consider. I know you examine the strategies closely but I suspect a lot of readers are just getting up to speed on them — so I keep asking more questions to make sure I’m clear on their various efforts.
I’m speaking with Avnet Technology Solutions late today for a clearer view on their strategy. And I know I still owe you the answer on that other question. I should be able to come up for air and pursue that later this week.
