However, Digium today disclosed that it has shipped more than 4 million Asterisk ports. Nice start for a small market. It sets up in no time, and is fairly inexpensive. I'm a big fan of asterisk, although I find the thought of hosting asterisk servers less than attractive, as I prefer having others do the hosting. That being said, we've played with a couple of asterisk iterations here and I have to say that it's remarkably stable, and the price is right:) Undoubtedly, this is a market this has yet to really even form...2010, 2011 should be huge years, and I'm sure that the whole VoiP market, hosted PBX in particular, will look much different than what exists today....
