Craig: I hear OpenView faces more and more competition at the low end of the market from companies like GroundWork OpenSource, and in the managed services market from Nimsoft.

The latest reports indicate that HP is buying EDS. I do think it will be a distraction in some ways within HP. But I also think HP will need to have a much more aggressive stance on managed services. I'm surprised they haven't introduced a starter or junior version of openview for the msp market.

It is surprising that HP hasn't been more active in the managed services market. I hadn't heard about them joining msp partners. Perhaps that's a sign of things to come.
