Josh: Don't apologize for stirring the pot. This site is all about driving healthy discussion between MSPs, and between MSPs and the vendor community. I expect to speak with Dell's Managed Services team regularly and will bring this up next time I speak with them. Let our readers know if there are other questions/issues you'd like raised.

For those who haven't followed MSPmentor and our sister blog, The VAR Guy, our Dell channel coverage has generally given Dell the benefit of the doubt. Also, we've been bullish about Dell's decision to embrace open source options (example: Ubuntu Linux preloads on PCs). But our perspectives certainly warrant debate and feedback from readers.

Thanks for weighing in, Josh.

Hey Joe,

I hate to stir the pot but I am curious if you can ask your Dell contacts how many more of this type of email I should expect my clients to receive direct from Dell??

In all seriousness, Dell is marketing direct and the channel has no protection currently that I can see. I would love to know your thoughts.

[...] I received a comment from Joe Panettieri (of MSPmentor) linking me back to this very informative blog about a recent letter from Dell to MSPs. Joe’s blog and the letter are worth a read. [...]
